It’s a great place and comfortably deserves its reputation as the best hotel in the centre of Belfast.
Stayed in an art deco room, junior suite kind of thing. Stunning room, bathroom lush. All very clean and well appointed as one would expect. Turn-down service a nice touch.
Had some drinks in the cocktail bar after a 20 minute wait for a spot on the bar- our choice to wait for a space there. Well worth it. A really good selection of cocktails which were beautifully made and presented.
Every staff member we encountered during our stay was wonderful, friendly, helpful.
The only underwhelming aspect of the stay was the breakfast. I understand that the hotel probably doesn’t feel that it needs to load a breakfast plate high with sausage, bacon and eggs as its aim is quality, but I think what they’ve arrived at is a signature breakfast that is bang average. A real shame as it’s the last thing you do before you check out, innit. But a single, thin pork sausage next to a single, plain old bacon rasher is not good value for the price. And even if you dont consider “value”, it’s actually just not that good. Half a piece of potato bread? Nah. I’d have expected a good quality breakfast and got a fairly stingey one whose component parts were not befitting of the price of it. Worth looking at.
But I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. We hung out a bit in the hot tub on the roof and enjoyed the view from the sauna. A nice Bloody Mary by the fire before we left. A real treat. Cheers.
