This place was lovely. The vibe was cozy and welcoming. The staff were super friendly and easygoing. Even though we didn’t have a reservation, they found us a table and made us feel really comfortable. Our server was amazing, very helpful with the menu and just had a great attitude.The food was great too. My daughter had the grilled fish with potatoes and tartar sauce, it was just $10 and honestly way better than what you’d expect for that price. I had the mushroom soup of the day, and it was fresh, light, and full of flavor. Overall, just a really warm, relaxed place with good food. We’ll definitely go back.

I had the pleasure of dining at The Wooden Monkey this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed their pizza paired with a locally crafted beer. The pizza was outstanding — perfectly balanced flavors, fresh ingredients, and a beautifully baked crust. The beer selection complemented the meal exceptionally well. The restaurant offers a warm, inviting atmosphere with attentive and friendly service. A truly satisfying experience that reflects Halifax’s vibrant local food culture. Highly recommended for anyone seeking quality, sustainably inspired dining in the city.

A halifax staple, giving celiacs and vegans a taste of the east coast 🫶🏻 my partner loved the seafood chowder with bread; garlic fingers (gf and vegan) are always 100%; and don’t you dare think about skipping out on a piece of their infamous tofu pie for dessert !!
True east coast hospitality with the kindest staff who go out of their way to ensure you have the best dining experience.
So good we always squeeze 2 meals into each trip to Halifax!! Thanks for another fabulous dining experience!
