Lovely art gallery with great exhibitions. Went to see the Making Waves exhibit today on Japanese Woodblock Print which was fabulous. I easily lost a couple of hours admiring and learning about the process, culture, artists and subjects of the art work. We were given a fascinating history of the Samurai and their influence on the country and its cultural development.

Always love to visit art galleries and this time we visited York Art Gallery for the current exhibition 'Future Tense: Art in the Rage of Transformation' which I thoroughly enjoyed. Adult tickets are £8.50, Student/Young person Price £7.65, Child (5-16) £5.10 and Children 4 or below got free entry. We paid for 4 adult tickets in advance which may I add was a super smooth process to provide upon entry and enter. The exhibition itself was wonderful, multiple art pieces caught my eye and the atmosphere was calm and collected which is one of my favourite things about visiting galleries and museums, the abillity to enjoy without distraction. Makes me miss being able to be creative everyday in my uni days. Gallery toilets were also fairly nice and clean, there was also a cafe if you wanted a coffee or lil snack after your visit as well as a small dainty shop for all the art nerds out there. I have attached some pictures of some of my favourite art pieces were saw ans explored.

On the 10th July, we went to the art gallery as I am very fond of Harland Miller and his exhibition "XXX" was on.
We really enjoyed the exhibition as it was well planned.
For the mature audiences and visually challenged, they have large print explanatory notes.
For the kids & family and the young at heart, they have the playful activities to let you try out his artful ideas.
We really enjoyed the lovely afternoon there.
