Highly recommend a visit. This museum had a couple different buildings and spaces all nestled inconspicuously in a sweet little neighborhood like a secret. A lot of the exhibits I witnessed here had an eerie and nostalgic quality.

this was an absolutely amazing experience!!! all of the exhibits were so cool (though i admit, some were MUCH better than others) and it was just so much fun! a lot of the exhibits have a creepy vibe which i absolutely LOVE. i wanted to stay there for a lot longer than i did and just stare at some of the exhibits for hours. i would absolutely recommend the mattress factory, and i do plan to come again!

i visited the mattress factory with a friend on a weekend afternoon for a really unique outing. the museum's parking lot was full when we arrived so we found a spot on the street a block or two away. i definitely suggest budgeting some extra time for the parking hunt just in case. 🚗

once we got our tickets, we discovered the museum is actually spread across three separate buildings. the walk between them is quite short but since you have to head outside to see every exhibit, it is a good idea to dress for the weather 🌦️ it is also important to note that not all areas or exhibits are wheelchair friendly or fully accessible due to the nature of these older buildings. 🧱

some sections feel a bit aged so if you are sensitive to dust or have breathing concerns, you might want to bring a face mask along. i also noticed that certain floors were kept very dim for the art installations. while the darkness was a deliberate choice for the art, i had to be a little extra careful where i stepped.

as for the art itself, it was such a fun mix of quirky and wonderful. 🎨 my friend and i kept telling each other "this is strange, but i love it" as we explored everything from films and illustrations to sculptures. it is a truly fantastic variety of contemporary work and such a cool experience✨
